By booking your dog grooming with Scruffty & Woofty’s Dog Groomers, you are accepting the outlined terms and conditions as stated below. Should you not accept these conditions we will not be able to carry out any grooming services for your dog,

Health and Medical Conditions

Procedures within the grooming environment can be stressful for some dogs, especially for senior, young, overweight dogs or those with medical concerns. The process may expose unknown medical conditions or aggravate a current one during or after the groom. In the best interest of your pet this agreement will give Scruffty & Woofty’s Dog Grooming permission to seek emergency veterinary treatment if we deem it necessary for whatever reason. We will do the best to contact you first, before taking your pet for treatment, however this may not always be feasible. Unless we are deemed to be negligent all medical expenses are the responsibility of the owner. By agreeing to these Terms and Conditions you are expressly agreeing to the following disclaimer:

 

Elderly, Infirm, Overweight or Young Dogs Disclaimer 
A full groom can take in-excess of 3 hours and is physically demanding as well as stressful for some animals. Whilst Scruffty & Woofty’s Dog Grooming make every effort to provide additional support to elderly/infirm/overweight and young dogs we cannot guarantee that your dog will be able to adequately support themselves for the duration of the groom which may result in serious health risks. There is also an increased risk of other injuries such as cuts and grazes. Scruffty & Woofty’s Dog Grooming reserve the right to stop the grooming process at any time with payment in full being due on collection of your dog.

 

Vaccinations

By using our services, owners confirm that their dog is up to date with their annual vaccinations against Canine Distemper, Infectious Canine Hepatitis, Leptospirosis, and Canine Parvovirus. An unvaccinated dog may put itself and others at risk. Scruffty & Woofty’s  Dog Grooming takes no responsibility for any dog that may contract any of the aforementioned diseases.
Scruffty & Woofty’s  Dog Grooming may ask for proof of vaccination and veterinary information which must be provided.

 

Fleas & Ticks

Scruffty & Woofty’s Dog Grooming is proud to be a tick/flea free environment. If your dog is known to have a parasitic infestation, we ask that your grooming appointment is rescheduled to a time when your pet is free from said infestation. 48 hours notice must be provided to avoid a cancelation charge. We recommend that you contact your veterinary surgeon to provide you with the best recommended treatment. If fleas are found on your dog, we will use a flea shampoo and be required to do additional disinfection of our premises and equipment. An additional £15 will be charged to your bill. If ticks are found an additional £5 will be charged to include removal. We will not be held responsible for any infection caused by the tick or removal thereof.

 

Neglected & Matted Coats

In the event that your dog’s coat needs to be clipped down to release it from matting or coat neglect, Scruffty & Woofty’s Dog Grooming, its owner and operator are not liable for any post-grooming effects of this procedure, which is not without risk. 
Any humane de-matting will be undertaken solely at my discretion, in compliance with The Animal Welfare Act 2006 (clause 5 - Animals are to be protected from pain, injury and suffering). De-matting during a routine groom is limited to a maximum of 15 minutes and is only possible if the matting is minimal. For severely matted coats where de-matting isn't possible , the only humane way to deal with this will be to completely shave off the coat.
You will be given an estimate of how long matt release is likely to take and an estimated cost for the procedure. A shavedown consumes significantly more time, labour, product and tool/equipment wear and tear than a routine trim therefore will incur an extra charge. All shavedown costs are payable in full at the time you collect your dog.

 

Behavioural Charges

Aggression
I reserve the right to refuse to groom any dog at risk of harming me or itself. If your dog is accepted for grooming and displays aggression that I have not been informed of during its session , the groom will be terminated immediately. You will be contacted to collect it. The full starting price of the groom will be levied.
You must inform Scruffty & Woofty’s Dog Grooming prior to grooming if your dog has ever bitten or displayed aggression. Failure to disclose this information may result in refusal of further services. Your attention is drawn to the Dangerous Dogs Act, which holds owners liable for bites and injuries caused by their dogs.

 

Time Keeping

Please be punctual. Scruffty & Woofty’s  Dog Grooming work by appointment only, the appointment slot allocated for your dog’s groom has been booked at your request exclusively. I do not double book appointments; a no-show is lost income.
Most grooms take between 1-3 hours or more depending on the size and temperament of the dog, and its coat condition. You will be advised what time to collect your pet.
It is advisable not to return to the salon before this time, as your presence may distract your pet during the finishing stage of its groom. It is essential that you collect your pet at the agreed time as once the groom is finished your dog will be eager to go home and may become unsettled or anxious and cause a distraction to the next dog being groomed. Late collections may incur an extra charge.

Cancellations

Scruffty & Woofty’s  Dog Grooming require 48 hours notice for cancelled appointments or the full grooming charge will apply and must be paid in full before re-booking.

 

Pricing

All prices provided are an estimate only 

Additional charges may be incurred due to:
• Overweight dogs or oversized for the breed
• Unkept/neglected coats
• Aggressive, senior, nervous or timid dogs that require additional handling
• Fleas and/or ticks
• Dogs that require additional handling for whatever reason

 

Hold Harmless Agreement

By using our services you agree to hold Scruffty & Woofty’s  Dog Grooming its owners, employees and directors harmless from any damage, loss, or claim arising from any condition of the  dog, either known or unknown to us. It is also further understood and agreed the terms of this agreement can change at any time, without notice, and will overwrite any and all prior signed contracts or releases. It is further understood this clause applies to any and all dogs groomed.

 

GDPR Statement

In order for us to provide the requested services, we are required to obtain and store a limited amount of your personal information. Such information will be stored in accordance with all relevant legislation, will never be shared with any 3rd parties or organisations and will only be used for the purposes of providing the requested or related services.
